This reminds me vaguely of Puzzle Pirates. I say that mostly because they are two games that are entirely based on puzzles. The combat is also similar, with a 2-block piece dropping down to make larger blocks, then destroyed by an attack piece. Also, the wand-thingy is similar to the different swords in PP; similar, but the swords are only used in battles, and they just change what colour blocks are dropped on your opponent when clearing. Otherwise, the games are different. The biggest differences being browser vs. client.
Man, that’s almost a mini-review right there, isn’t it?
While the thought of Doctor Who MMO sounds very interesting, I don’t think this game makes the best use of the licence. I do like puzzles and doctor who, but putting them together in an MMO fashion is not something I would enjoy.
Personally I think Doctor Who could potentially make an excellent MMO game. I mean the doctor is 900 years old now so the amount of people he has met along the way is mind boggling. Not to mention the people he has yet to meet. So the doctor definately has enough people who would come to his aid, if he ever needed them (which would explain the origin of the players). The only problem I see is that a combat oriented MMO wouldn’t really fit to the doctor who universe, so the gameplay has to be drastically different than other MMOs. Maybe a game similar to MYST online would make better use of the licence.
Another great in depth review! :)

Three Rings, who developed this game is the same developer as Puzzle Pirates.
Wait…one of the cash shop items is a WEEPING ANGEL?
Wow, that was one creepy opening.
Well done.
